Macau vs Las Vegas
Macau vs. Las Vegas
Some might refer to Macau as the Vegas of the east, but they are very different in many ways. Macau separates all dining and shopping from the casinos. Las Vegas on the other hand, combines everything. The whole city of Las Vegas offers gambling from the airport to the hotel. Macau keeps all businesses separate. The shopping, the dining, and the gambling are all segregated in most areas.
Macau, as you would expect, has a lot more rules and regulations in regards to gambling. Government workers are prohibited from entering the casinos. This rule also applies to the fewer and newer Las Vegas style resort casinos that offer dining and shopping through the same entrance as the gaming. Las Vegas is a global entity that people flock to from all over the world. Macau is mostly an Asian destination that the rest of the world is largely unaware of. While the nightlife may be active in both hemispheres, only one has a global reputation and even a catchphrase to accompany. Of course, if you only like to gamble where you're free of the worry of having to mingle with government workers...
